Terms & Conditions

Please give these a read before using simsownersdetail.com. Using the Site means you're agreeing to what's written here.

Effective: August 1, 2026
Governed By Pakistani Law
Updated: August 2026

Welcome to Sim Owner Detail (simsownersdetail.com). These Terms and Conditions set out how you're expected to use our website and the guides published on it. By browsing or interacting with the Site, you're agreeing to be bound by what follows. If any part of this doesn't sit right with you, the simplest option is to stop using the Site. We've tried to keep the wording as plain and direct as a legal document reasonably allows, so you shouldn't need a law degree to follow along.

Section 01

Accepting These Terms

By visiting, reading, or otherwise using simsownersdetail.com, you're confirming that you accept these Terms in full. This forms a binding agreement between you ("User," "you") and Sim Owner Detail ("we," "us," "our").

Worth noting: if we ever update these Terms and you keep using the Site afterward, that continued use counts as acceptance of the new version. We'd suggest glancing back here every so often.

These Terms apply equally to first-time visitors, returning readers, and anyone else interacting with the Site in any way.

If you're accessing the Site on behalf of an organization — a research team, a media outlet, or a business — you're confirming you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms as well, not just yourself personally.

Section 02

What We Actually Offer

Sim Owner Detail is an informational website focused on Pakistani SIM registration and telecom regulation. In practical terms, what we provide is:

  • Plain-language explanations of PTA's official SIM verification tools
  • Step-by-step walkthroughs for the 668 shortcode, cnic.sims.pk, and similar channels
  • Background reading on Pakistani telecom rules and how they've evolved
  • Practical guidance on managing SIMs registered against your own CNIC
  • Pointers on reporting or disowning a SIM you didn't authorize
⚠️ Important: This is an informational resource, not a lookup tool. We hold no affiliation with PTA, NADRA, or any operator, and nothing displayed here comes from a private database we control.

Everything we publish is built from publicly available sources — PTA circulars, operator help pages, and coverage from established Pakistani outlets. When a rule or a shortcode changes, we do our best to catch it quickly and update the relevant guide, though there can naturally be a short lag between an official announcement and our article reflecting it. We'd always encourage cross-checking anything time-sensitive directly with PTA before relying on it for a decision that matters.

We also don't gate any of this behind a login, a paywall, or a mandatory data submission. You can read every guide on the Site without handing over a name, an email, or any identifying detail — the only exception being if you choose to contact us directly.

Section 03

Who Can Use This Site

There's no sign-up required to read our guides, but a few basic conditions apply to anyone using the Site:

  • You should be at least 18, or using the Site with a parent or guardian's awareness
  • You're expected to use the content for lawful, personal purposes only
  • You won't use anything here to pursue fraud, identity misuse, or harassment
  • Any information you submit through our contact form should be accurate
  • You won't attempt to access another person's data without their consent

We reserve the right to restrict access for anyone who clearly disregards these basics.

None of this is meant to sound heavy-handed — in practice, the overwhelming majority of visitors are simply here to read a guide or check a shortcode, and these conditions rarely come up. They exist mainly to make clear, in writing, that this Site is meant for legitimate personal use rather than anything adjacent to fraud or data misuse. We'd rather set expectations plainly upfront than have any ambiguity about what this Site is, and isn't, meant for.

Section 04

Acceptable Use Policy

To keep this simple, here's a direct side-by-side of what's fine and what isn't.

✅ Perfectly Fine

  • Checking SIMs registered on your own CNIC
  • Reading and following our step-by-step guides
  • Sharing an article link with proper credit
  • Reaching out with feedback, questions, or corrections
  • Using our content for personal, non-commercial reference

❌ Not Allowed

  • Accessing someone else's SIM or CNIC data without consent
  • Using this Site to support fraud or identity theft
  • Scraping or bulk-extracting our content automatically
  • Reposting our articles wholesale without permission
  • Trying to breach, disrupt, or probe our site's security
⚠️ Legal Notice: Accessing another person's SIM or identity information without authorization is a criminal offence under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, and any confirmed misuse of this platform for that purpose will be reported to the relevant authorities.

The intent behind every guide we publish is straightforward: help you protect and manage your own SIM registration, not give you a shortcut into someone else's. If a described method could technically be pointed toward someone else's data, that's not the use case we're writing for, and doing so falls entirely outside what these Terms permit.

Section 05

Intellectual Property

Everything published here — the writing, illustrations, icons, and layout — belongs to Sim Owner Detail unless stated otherwise, and is protected under Pakistan's copyright framework as well as applicable international protections.

You're welcome to quote a short excerpt with a link back to the original page. Reproducing, reselling, or republishing our content wholesale — without our written go-ahead — isn't permitted.

This extends to any imagery, custom diagrams, or step-by-step screenshots we've put together ourselves. If you're a journalist, researcher, or fellow publisher and want to reference something at length, just reach out — we're generally easy to work with when asked directly rather than having content lifted without a mention. Trademarks and brand names belonging to PTA, NADRA, or any network operator that appear in our guides remain the property of those respective owners and are used purely for identification.

Section 06

Disclaimer Of Warranties

The Site and everything on it is offered "as is", without guarantees of any kind. We specifically make no promise that:

  • The Site will always be available, fast, or free of technical hiccups
  • Any guide will remain accurate indefinitely as rules change
  • Content is fit for any particular purpose beyond general education
  • The Site is entirely free from bugs or security vulnerabilities
⚠️ On Accuracy: Content here is drawn from public sources and may lag behind the very latest PTA or operator update. Always confirm anything critical directly with PTA or your network before acting on it.

We put real effort into keeping guides current, reviewing high-traffic pages more frequently and flagging anything we're unsure about rather than guessing. Even so, telecom regulation in Pakistan moves fast enough that no single website — ours included — can promise to be perfectly synchronized with every operator or PTA change the moment it happens.

Section 07

Limitation Of Liability

As far as the law allows, Sim Owner Detail and anyone behind it won't be held responsible for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses of any kind
  • Lost data, lost opportunity, or reputational damage
  • Anything arising from unauthorized access to your own information
  • The conduct or content of any third party connected to the Site
  • Decisions you make based on something you read here

Since this is a free service with no fees charged anywhere, our total liability for any claim connected to the Site is capped at PKR 1,000 or whatever, if anything, you've paid us in the past year — whichever turns out larger.

This cap reflects the nature of what we run: a free, ad-supported educational resource, not a paid service with contractual guarantees attached. Nothing in this section is meant to exclude liability that can't lawfully be excluded under Pakistani law — it simply sets out how far our responsibility extends beyond that baseline.

Section 08

Suspension & Termination Of Access

Since the Site is open and free with no accounts to manage, "termination" here mostly means restricting or blocking access rather than closing a login. We may do this if:

  1. Your traffic pattern shows clear automated scraping or abuse of our servers
  2. You're found using our content to facilitate fraud or unauthorized data access
  3. You attempt to breach or probe the Site's technical security
  4. You repeatedly send abusive or threatening messages to our team

Where practical, we'll try to flag a concern before taking action. For serious misuse — especially anything touching PECA 2016 — we may restrict access immediately and refer the matter to the relevant authority without prior notice.

Good to know: Nothing about a restriction here removes your right to access PTA's own official tools directly — those exist independently of this Site.

In the ordinary course of things, none of this ever becomes relevant to a typical reader. It's included mainly so that, in the rare case someone does try to misuse the Site, there's a clear, written basis for us to act quickly rather than needing to work it out after the fact.

Section 09

Third-Party Links

Our guides link out to official PTA pages, operator websites, and government complaint portals. These sites aren't owned or controlled by us, and we can't take responsibility for their content, availability, or practices.

  • A link from us isn't necessarily an endorsement of everything on that page
  • Visiting an external site is your own call and at your own risk
  • Each external site runs under its own terms — worth a quick check if you're unsure
Being mindful of when you've left our Site — and reading the linked site's own policies — is a good habit generally, not just here.

We choose which sites to link to carefully, favouring official PTA, NADRA, and operator pages over anything unverified. Still, we don't monitor those destinations on an ongoing basis, so a link that was accurate when we published it could point somewhere slightly different later if the destination site restructures its own pages.

Section 10

Changes To These Terms

We may revise these Terms whenever needed — a regulatory update, a new feature, or just tightening up the wording. When that happens, we will:

  • Refresh the "Last Updated" date shown at the top of this page
  • Flag any significant change on the homepage for a while
  • Where feasible, note the change directly on affected guide pages

Sticking around and using the Site after an update means you're accepting the revised version. These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of Pakistani courts.

We don't expect to change these Terms often — most updates are small clarifications rather than substantive shifts in policy. If we ever did make a change significant enough to affect how you use the Site, we'd rather be upfront about it on the homepage than quietly bury it in a footer link.

Section 11
