What A CPLC Status Actually Means
Clear
No active theft report is linked to this chassis or engine number at the time of the search. It doesn't retroactively confirm the vehicle's full history — pair it with the excise ownership record and a physical inspection.
Flagged
An active theft report is attached to the vehicle. Do not proceed with a purchase on a flagged result — report it to the nearest police station or CPLC office rather than attempting to resolve it directly with the seller.
If you get a flagged result: stop the transaction immediately. A flagged vehicle is a police matter, not a negotiation point — involving CPLC or the local police station is the correct next step, not asking the seller to explain it away.
Paying Outstanding Token Tax
Token tax in Sindh is collected under the Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1958, and is owed annually unless the vehicle qualifies for the one-time lifetime rate that applies to motorcycles and cars up to 1000cc.
